Guam--Part 3

Friday moved so fast with all the interviews, the DYA visit, the Srs. of Mercy visit, the Governor's visit, the concert at Bishop Baumgartner's, after concert soup with my cousin Eddy Reyes...
Friday flowed into Saturday. No time for breakfast. The Youth Convocation will start in a matter of an hour or so. See my two nieces, Max and Felicia, they're helping uncle Jesse again. Helen Flores is there in a pink smiley face shirt. Ann Gogue, Joe Meno, Fred Rodrigues, Sr. Marian Arroyo...these are the crew from the archdiocese who brought me to Guam. Some folks are already arriving early. St. Jude Lifeteen band is there setting up...my mom and dad finally show up with my tee shirt and cd bag, AND guitar. Whew!
St. Jude throws down some serious icebreaking musical activities. Some of the DYA youth are there. Pretty awesome. After a while, I am introduced and we jump right into it. WE HAVE COME TO WORSHIP is the theme. A continuation of the Cologne World Youth Day theme. WORSHIP shouldn't make us comfortable. WORSHIP should make us "Christ-like." Peacemakers. Friends. Forgivers. Bringers of the Justice of God. WORSHIP acknowledges the sacred and the holy in everything and everyone. And that should disturb us. If we live like that, and definitely not just talk, pray and sing, like that, than sweet Georgia Brown, we are going to look at Chruch, Faith, Belief, God, the World and our role in it in a radically new and dangerous way. It is what it is. A moment. A memory. Before long, it's over. Time moves fast. Too fast sometimes. There was so much more to do, say, and reflect about. We do what we can, and the Holy Spirit takes the rest. Alleluia.
It is now around 2:30PM and I've got to be at Alicia and Jim's house for a barbeque at 5PM. So a nap is needed. And I get about a two hour nap. Hallelujah! Visiting my family in Guam is a huge trip. Not just my Uncle Emmo and Auntie Chong; not just my cousins and nieces and nephews; not just the best food in the world, but hey, my family has like two caribou, a bull, a cow, 600 chickens, 70 chihuahuas, 3 mixed breed dogs, 1 elephant sized rottweiller, and a partridge in a betel nut tree. Bam. It's pretty awesome. Hanging with family in Guam...that rocks.
Get to the hotel around 9:30PM, and I was hoping to hang with my cousin Eddy and his wife, Dawn, but alas, I'm going into a coma.
